VLR Wood

Vandersteen Sound in a Small Pretty Package

A ton of Vandersteen sound in a small, beautiful package! The VLR Wood is a compact stereo or home theater speaker for in-cabinet or stand-mounting in situations where it is domestically impossible to use Vandersteen full-range, floor-standing loudspeakers. Think of the VLR Wood as the little Vandersteen that could.

Vandersteen Audio has done its best to photograph these wood finishes on each product page, but please know that while the woods we receive from our vendors are unfailingly high in quality, no two pieces of wood are ever exactly alike. This is dictated by nature. We promise that your speakers will look gorgeous, but not that they will precisely match the photos you see on our website or on our dealers’ in-store demo speakers.

Accurately reproducing the signal from the amplifier requires preserving all of the delicate time-domain relationships that comprise music. Because there isn't enough physical real estate to time-align such a compact speaker, making time-and phase-coherent speakers in such a small box requires the use of coaxially-mounted drivers like the woofer/tweeter used here. The result is all the coherence and dimensional purity one expects from a classic Vandersteen in a gorgeous and versatile little speaker.

"We can go on and on with esoteric prose, but these speakers handle the musical fundamentals better than many speakers, regardless of price. You’ll nd the VLR in our print annual next month as one of our Products of the Year in the small-speaker category. I can think of no small speaker more deserving." - Jeff Dorgay
